modern web browsers

this term annoys me.  probably stems from my dislike of it used e.g. modern art, mid-century modern, post-modern theory, etc.

you can't just say "modern web browsers like chrome and safari support these features."  it's not precise enough.

maybe a better term would be "5/3 browsers" as in html5/css3.  it could then be updated as html and css eventually evolve (6/4, 7/5), and it would be clear what type of browser is needed to fully implement the code.
